This song addresses how some humans seem to move from one thing to the next in a greedy, self-destructive manner with little to no concern for how their actions affect the planet or their immediate environment. Doesn't it feel like those in power are ready to privatize the moon for their own personal gain?

I hope that humans can just leave the moon alone. It is perfect the way it is. Humanity, please DON'T Destroy the Moon. Spend more time trying to treat the earth and all it's creatures with LOVE & COMPASSION rather than trying to formulate an escape plan to a much less hospitable place.

This song was arranged and initially recorded with drums and rhythm guitar simultaneously-live, the same way all these Lunatic demos were crafted. The vocal melody hadn't been thought up. The lyrics weren't even written until months later. The melody guitar was recorded soon after I read Keith Richard's book, Life, and I remember wanting to write this part to where if Keith ever heard it he would think 'that guitar part isn't too bad!' The synth was a lot of fun to dial in & record, and it just felt right to use a synthesizer rather than a bass guitar for the low end. All these parts were recorded straight through from start to finish, and that made the whole process of overdubbing a lot of fun. It really gets the vibe right.
